The Relevance AI Chrome extension lets you capture content from any web page and send it to Chat, where you can work with it using any of your agents. It also includes built-in support for LinkedIn profiles, extracting structured data like name, title, and company. The extension is a manual, browser-based complement to automated web scraping. Use it when you want to send specific page content to an agent on demand, rather than building a scheduled pipeline.
The Chrome extension is only available on desktop Chrome. It is not available on mobile browsers or other browsers such as Firefox or Safari.

Accessing the extension

There are three ways to open the extension on any web page.

Toolbar icon

Click the Relevance AI icon in your Chrome toolbar. This opens the extension panel showing the current page and any extraction options.

Right-click context menu

Right-click anywhere on a web page and select Send to Relevance AI from the context menu. This opens the extension panel with the current page pre-selected.

Keyboard shortcut

Use the keyboard shortcut to open the extension without clicking. The default shortcut is shown in the extension panel. You can customize it by going to chrome://extensions/shortcuts in your browser.

Content extraction

When you open the extension on a web page, it extracts the page content and sends it to Chat.

General web pages

For most web pages, the extension extracts the visible text content of the page — articles, documentation, product pages, and other text-heavy content.
  1. Navigate to the web page you want to extract.
  2. Open the extension using any of the three access methods above.
  3. Click Extract content.
  4. Review the extracted content in the preview panel.
  5. Click Send to Chat to open Relevance AI Chat with the content pre-loaded.

LinkedIn profiles

The extension has built-in support for LinkedIn profiles. When you open the extension on a LinkedIn profile page, it recognizes the page type and extracts structured profile data including:
  • Name and headline
  • Current role and company
  • Location
  • About section
  • Work experience
  • Education
  1. Navigate to a LinkedIn profile page.
  2. Open the extension using any access method.
  3. The extension automatically detects the profile and shows an Extract LinkedIn profile option.
  4. Click Extract LinkedIn profile.
  5. Review the structured data in the preview panel.
  6. Click Send to Chat to open Relevance AI Chat with the profile data pre-loaded.
LinkedIn profile extraction works on profiles you can view while logged in to LinkedIn. Make sure you are logged in to LinkedIn for best results.

Sending content to Chat

After extracting content, clicking Send to Chat opens Relevance AI Chat with the content included in the conversation. From Chat, you can:
  • Type a message to start a conversation about the content
  • Use @ to mention a specific agent to handle the content
  • Ask questions, request summaries, or trigger agent workflows
For example, after extracting a LinkedIn profile, you could type @sales-agent Draft a personalized outreach message for this person. Learn more about Chat.

Troubleshooting

Click the puzzle piece icon in the Chrome toolbar to see all installed extensions. Click the pin icon next to Relevance AI to keep it visible in the toolbar.
  1. Click the extension icon.
  2. Click Disconnect if the option is available, then reconnect.
  3. Make sure you are logged in to your Relevance AI account in the browser before authenticating.
  4. If the issue persists, try removing and reinstalling the extension.
Some web pages block content extraction through JavaScript or page structure. If extraction returns incomplete content:
  • Scroll through the full page before extracting, so all content has loaded.
  • Use the Extract Website Content tool step in an automated workflow instead.
Make sure you are on a LinkedIn profile page — the URL should contain linkedin.com/in/. The LinkedIn extraction mode only activates on profile pages, not on the LinkedIn feed or company pages.
